Band posters? Totally useless?

I was reading an article on band posters, and why they don't work today. Here's the link, check it out.
Now, this guy says band posters don't work. And let me tell you how much I agree! And at the same time, totally DISAGREE. While traditional form of band posters are pretty played out, and only work in the way that it brands your band, this new and bold age of technology completely re-invents the tour poster. The band poster. Online promotion makes the 'COST' of band posters free, it allows to you send out and reach many MORE people than it would with posters up around your local scene. AND it takes you only moments to do it, rather than spending hours walking around town with some tape and a staple gun.
Think about that...
